Taking a short break…

I was looking at my screen the other day, and I thought, I need a break. Not a long one, but working a full time job, preparing sessions and traveling to conferences, tech editing a book, and just various life, health, exercise, vacation time challenges just made me say… I need to take a little break from blogging.

I am quite busy still with the aforementioned tech edit of a PostgreSQL/MySQL book, I will be at Day of Data Jacksonville on May 2, then a week of vacation elsewhere in the state of Florida. I hope to get out a few more Blogging for Programmers episodes along the way and some more editorials and be back at it soon thereafter.

In my last conference I did a long section of a 2 hour conference on GROUP BY and Window functions, and I hope to turn that into a series next, but I just realized it was time for a break. As much as I like keeping to a schedule, I need to be careful not to burn myself completely out and spend every waking hour at my computer. I want to go to Florida and learn stuff, teach stuff, and then spend 6 days tooling around Orlando thinking about getting spun around and watching fireworks.
