Feeds I Read Page | Other Feedly Friday Posts
Welcome to my series of posts where I am going to highlight one or two feeds I follow in my Feedly feeds. Technology feeds only, though I keep up with other things like theme park news in there too.
Feedly is an RSS reader that you can use that is free for a very reasonable number of RSS feeds. It is the best way to follow a large number of websites and see what is new.
This week’s entry is someone’s feed who hardly needs my mention, but it is very much on my mind this week.
Brent Ozar Unlimited
Brent Ozar is as close to a celebrity as the SQL Server has. If you follow him on Instagram (@brentO), you may forget that he works in the same industry as you do! You can also find him on LinkedIn (BrentOzar) where you watch his videos he regularly does in short, digestible pieces.
His blogs regularly, and what he posts is always interesting, usually educating, and often provocative and always worth a read.
Why mention Brent now?
The reason that Brent’s feed is on my mind this week is that he has made the Drsql.Link week very interesting.
After over 20 posts, last week I was about to celebrate my 1000th view on the blog. On Monday the 18th though, not only had I reached 1000, but I was cresting 5000. I had no idea why (I wasn’t subscribed to his newsletter at the time, so I was kind of freaking out. I tweeted about it, and John Sterrett replies and lets me know that Brent had included me in his newsletter. When I finally got a copy of it, he had mentioned several of my posts on drsql.link.
Which was amazing. Down I have 4 posts over 1000, and a few others not that far away. Wow.
All this to say that: check out Brent Ozar and you are going to get something out of it.
