I have been working on a project the past few months, trying out the idea of having a podcast again about technology. Part of me is terrified, but I had wanted to do a podcast like this for a while now. Just me (for now), my microphone and camera, talking to myself.
I picked this day (Halloween, 2025) to announce the podcast because there is not a lot scarier to me than this!
The Name
When I got started, I wanted a name like:
“Louis is trying, but he knows that getting it right the first time is really hard and all of my performance consultant and tool creating friends would go hungry if everyone did actually start doing things right the first time but I have to try”
But it just wouldn’t fit in any of the little blanks for names. The word tuple is kind of fun, because it gets mispronounced all the time, it is not really understood, and part of that is that it is used in multiple ways. So bringing futility in along with databases, I thought of Sisyphus.
The idea of rolling a boulder up a hill forever was a perfect metaphor. But I (nor any of my little AI buddies) could not convince myself that any name I came up with worked. But Don Quixote came to mind, and a name was born. And several of those names were thrown out, and one I just couldn’t remember to say when I was recording (that is discussed in a few episodes!), but I landed on “Tilting with Tuples”
It also added that additional concept that everyone things he is nuts. Sometimes I wonder about myself. If you want to know more about the name, more will be covered in a later episode.
The Details
You can follow Tilting with Tuples in several places now!

This is the intro episode, and it covers why I decided to do this. I will be releasing episodes semi-regularly, mostly due to all the holidays. I probably should have waited (or started earlier), but this whole concept of doing a podcast all by myself was kind of daunting.
Coming Up Next
I have recorded 10 episodes, and I may throw in a few more before I am done with my first season or series. Who knows, if I get a few listeners/viewers, I may keep going. Not sure how I will promote this, though I do have ideas for some commercials!
At the same YouTube link, you will find (or soon find if you are reading this in October 2025), another series of writing tips for blogging programmers. More on that later.
